Full Responsibility, Full Speed Ahead

The Dalai Lama says that, “In the present circumstances, no one can afford to assume that someone else will solve their problems. Every individual has a responsibility to help guide our global family in the right direction. Good wishes are not sufficient; we must become actively engaged.”

Those of you who have finished Lesson One already now know how crucial it is that you accept responsibility for your own actions.

Many of us get so wrapped up in living our lives for others that we forget to take care of—and yes, take responsibility for—ourselves.

How many soccer matches have you gone to without working out yourself?

How many meals have you packed someone’s lunch without concerning yourself with your own nutritional needs?

How many noses have you wiped, prescriptions have you filled, clumps of hair have you held back from the vomiting faces of the sick people you love—without taking responsibility for your own health?

If you don’t take care of you, who will?

No more excuses. It’s time to take control—to take responsibility—of your own life.

Where are you holding back? What are you excelling at?

Post your responses below.
